A late summer visit

From the Wupper to the Trave: In the most beautiful "painting weather", Dr. Bernd Gatermann and his wife Annemarie took a walk along the centuries-old fishermen's cottages and their picturesque gardens. They visited Israelsdorf and the fishing village of Gothmund, where once the great uncle, the late impressionist Karl Gatermann the Elder, left his impressive artistic traces at the beginning of the 20th century.

With his in-depth knowledge of the Lübeck art scene at the time, Dr. Gatermann has been researching clues to the artist colony with great commitment for many years. In addition to numerous articles and extensive publications about Karl Gatermann d.Ä. and other artists, Dr. Gatermann is also curating the Gothmund Artists' Colony article on Wikipedia.
